Well, today is the day we start moving. Today and tomorrow are the all important moving days. I can't wait until all this is over and I can start unpacking. It is also the day the internet gets cut off. I guess I won't be blogging for a while (I am sure you are all used to that lately). The internet won't be hooked back up until September 14th. That is two weeks of non-blogging. I guess y'all will have to blog extra hard yourselves so I have lots to read when I get my internet back. Look forward to seeing you then.. Tata-for-now.

Everyone keeps hassling me to post, so I guess I should post. We are in the midst of moving right now so the house is a mess. Boxes are everywhere. I can't wait until this time next week, then we will be already in the new place. I am considering hosting thanksgiving this year at our new house... We have a lot of room and it shouldn't be too hard to find space for everyone.

Our family has never had my turkey before, but I have some good friends that can vouch for it. I have cooked a few turkey dinners in the last few years. University students are always up for free food and they always made repeat visits when I decided to make turkey more then once. Either that means they are just desperate for a free meal, or the food really was good.

Poor Marc, he had a temperature of 102.5 F last night. It was kind of worrisome for a while, but then a nice bath finally did the trick. I went to Shoppers to get a more reliable thermometer, and I can tell you, the pharmacist there was sure not helpful. Something to remember the next time someone is in the need of quick advice. I think you are better off to call a Mom then to relay on the pharmacist (or at least that particular Pharmacist).

I was reading some of my old posts and I came upon this post about marriage. It is quite scary to read this now that I am actually married. This is quoted from a conversation I had and it is someone else that is speaking... You know how you are.

"I think that love is a manifestation of the poetic mind is in reality non existent. I believe, friendship, responsibility and compatibility are better reasons for marriage.
If you delve into the psychological make up of the human mind, if you learn about personality disorders and mental illness you will learn that if you marry for love you may be deceiving yourself into believing that the person you have married is right for you, this will be a false truth and in time the real person whom you have married will show, this can be a frightening experience.
Compatibility, friendship and responsibility take a longer period of time to develop less likely that someone can fool you into believing that they are something they are not. Based on personal experience and readings on personality disorders such a narcissism."

Last night Marc, myself, Becky and Jerry all went to a play at the fringe festival. We saw Bonhoeffer, a one-man play about the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German theologian who was executed by the Nazis for his involvement in a plot to assassinate Hitler. The play was captivating and intense, as would be expected for such a topic. The take home message for me was regarding political inaction.

"Silence in the face of evil is evil itself: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." -Bonhoeffer

I just finished rereading the entire Earth Children Series by Jean Auel. It has kept me pretty distracted, hence I have not really been posting much. I just love that series, I have read it about four or five times now and this time I was reminded why it was my favourite.

Now that I am finished the series, I am anxiously waiting for the release of the next book. There was 10 years time between the fourth and fifth book, so I can only hope there isn't another 10 years between the fifth and sixth. That is a frustratingly long wait.

Other than reading, I haven't really been doing much. Marc has been busy with the extra work he is doing so that is why I have been keeping myself busy by reading. Now that I am finished those books, I need something else to keep me busy. I guess I could always do some actual school work, but who wants to do that. It's summer, I want to be on the beach. Another thing I could do is start packing, but it still seems like there is so much time to do that.

Anyways, this post has just turned out to be me blabbing. But maybe that is better then no post at all... Or is it?
