![]() Last night was a blast. We went to Saskatoon's second annual top of the hops. It was a little pricey, but overall a good event. I had a really good time. It is surprising how drunk you can get on just small samples of beer. After the event wound down, we went to Maguire's to continue the beer sampling. I definitely recommend their Centennial brew. You'll never get a chance to have it again, according to the server. As far as the top of the hops goes, I don't know if I could pick a favorite, but I really like Specklebelly's Raspberry Beer and Gibson's finest rye. Both of these were not new to me, but old favorites. Here's to a good night of drinking beer and here is to a good time tonight and Marc's (not surprise) birthday party. written by angela at 1:09 PM [+] | Thursday, May 26, 2005 Marc's birthday was a blast. He was utterly surprised to see over 15 of his closest friends waiting for him after his hockey game. He had no idea. A couple weeks ago when I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he said, all he has ever wanted is a surprise birthday party. Well, considering I had been throwing that idea around already, by asking for it, he had just ruined any surprise. How do you plan a surprise birthday party for someone how blantantly asks for one. Well, somehow I did it. It was so exciting, and now Marc can not say he has never had a surprise birthday party before. written by angela at 12:48 PM [+] | Wednesday, May 25, 2005 Happy Birthday Marc!!! I wish you many, many more! written by angela at 11:28 AM [+] | Monday, May 23, 2005
![]() written by angela at 1:36 PM [+] | I hope everyone has had a good long weekend. Marc and I had a really good time. In Edmonton we visited my sister and Marc helped start the building of their fence. I just watched and took some pictures. We met Marc's family and went to the West Edmonton Mall and got an antique family photo. That was a lot of fun. The wedding was also really fun and I had a great time. Now, unfortunately, I have come down with some sort of a cold or flu. Everyone went golfing this morning, but I stayed home to nurse my cold. Hopefully I get better soon, because I have too much work to do this week to be sick. Also, for the first time in my life I have a cold sore. So much for being immune to them. That was quite an unexpected surprise, in fact, I still have a hard time believing that is what it is. Some people get cold sores and some people don't, I have never had one before, so why now? written by angela at 12:09 PM [+] | Tuesday, May 17, 2005
Happy Birthday, Michael! All the best to my best man. If you have time, drop him an email wishing him well. Have a good day and a great year.
written by Marc at 9:19 AM [+] | Monday, May 16, 2005 This weekend was very nice. We were able to do a lot of nothing. It seems that there aren't a lot of weekends to just relax and hang out, especially in the summer. The weekends seem to be booking up so fast. It is nice visiting family and packing as much as possible into the short summer, but sometimes it is nice to just stay home and relax. I am looking forward to next weekend, we are going to Edmonton. Anyways, enough daydreaming for me, time to get back to work. written by angela at 2:10 PM [+] | Friday, May 13, 2005
![]() www.phdcomics.com written by angela at 11:49 AM [+] | I guess I should start blogging more about politics if I want to draw out the comments. My committee meeting is over and it was really good. It is nice to have deadlines in graduate school. The end is approaching, I can almost smell it. Now, if I can only get my act together and put forward a really good effort in the next little while, I should be able to finish much quicker then my committee expects. What do you think will happen if I do that? Will they let me go or give me more work to do with the extra time. I think they will let me go. I am approaching the three year mark of my time in graduate school. For a Masters, that means time to be done, get a job and move on with reality. written by angela at 10:22 AM [+] | Thursday, May 12, 2005 Here is a little insiration. written by angela at 11:45 AM [+] | Inspired by Carmen, I have decided to write a post about politics. I know it is a topic that I rarely jump into. I am quite confused with this whole sponsorship scandal and an upcoming election. Who do you vote for and why do you vote for them? I don't vote for a party because I do or don't like their politicians. I vote for the way they stand on issues and money spending policies. This situation is just horrible. I disagree with the policies of both the conservatives and the NDP, so who do I vote for? Liberal is the party that I agree with the most, so that is where I should vote, right? How much of an impact should this scandal have on voting. It sucks. At least they are in the process of resolving the scandal and bringing justice. Hopefully the people most involved will be fired and not part of the party anymore. The scandal is crappy, but it does not make the policies of the other parties more appealing. written by angela at 11:14 AM [+] | Monday, May 09, 2005 What a busy week last week was. I had to write a progress report and give a presentation in front of the department. What fun that was. Hopefully it is the last time I have to do that because I am hoping to graduate soon. Yeah...Here's to hoping. Things are a little bit back to normal now, yet things still seem quite busy. I guess that is how summer is. On the weekend we went to visit Marc's side of the family, it is always nice to get away for a bit. Even if it is only two days. I sure can't think of a lot to post about right now, even though it has been so long since I last posted. I have been keeping my daily photo website up-to-date, so feel free to check that out if you don't normally do already. It is time for me to get back to work now, so have a nice summer day. written by angela at 1:06 PM [+] | |
