Monday, March 28, 2005 Well. I hope everyone had a good Easter. I managed to have a minor catastrophe and now the Windows partitions of my hard drive will have to be completely formatted and rebuilt. Oh, yes, won't that be fun. Today I bought an external hard drive so I can back up anything I need before I format it all. But the hard drive doesn't arrive for a couple of days. I guess I can take some time off because I am pretty much useless without my computer. Hmmm, what should I do with a few days to do anything I want? I can think of a few things, but they all require my computer to be working. I think I am a little lost without a working computer. I didn't realize how much I depend on it until it was gone. It should be fun. written by angela at 3:09 PM [+] | Thursday, March 24, 2005
![]() Does anyone recognize my trespassers? I caught em. Well, on camera at least. written by angela at 12:30 PM [+] | Wednesday, March 23, 2005 I know I have posted this quote before, but with the whole molson stuff I was reminded of it and wanted to post it again. "To live in a culture [TV, adverts] in which women are routinely naked where men aren't is to learn inequality in little ways all day long. - Naomi Wolf written by angela at 3:20 PM [+] | What is a good way to catch trespassers? I have been noticing footprints into the garage in our backyard. It is an old garage that neither Marc and I use, so the footprints are obviously those of one or several trespassers. The garage is so old that the door to it is jarred open and can not be closed, therefore a lock is not an option. Today I went into the garage and took several pictures just for fun and I noticed cigarette butts and new garbage. I think they come maybe once a week, it hasn't been that often lately, but it still bothers me. I think they come during the day, it might be kids from the one of the local schools just messing around. I would like to catch them going in and then take some pictures of them on their exit with my zoom lens. But I don't have the time to just sit all day everyday waiting for these kids. If I could get pictures of them I would go to the local schools and tell the school to deal with it. ![]() If you want to see more pictures, click here. written by angela at 2:55 PM [+] | Sunday, March 20, 2005
![]() Does any one besides me see what is wrong with this image? I found this on the Molson website. It is an add for an on campus event. Well, the hosts look pretty interesting... Wow... Talk about discrimination and this is only part of what is wrong with the Molson theme. This image really bothers me and I hope it bothers some of you just as much. I thought we were moving in the right direction when it came to women's rights. Have you seen the new Molson Canadian commercial. It is just appalling. Basically is says, drink our beer and get laid. But, not only get laid, get laid by only the most gorgeous of women. It makes me sick. This is my cue to boycott Molson products. Goodbye Corona. written by angela at 7:23 PM [+] |
![]() comments??? written by angela at 2:46 PM [+] | Saturday, March 19, 2005 It's Marc here again... WOW! What a concert last night! I was thoroughly impressed with my 4th Sarah Slean last night at Louis'. As always, she was fantastic. There were two things I wish I could change about last night, if I could: we went too late to get a decent seat (or a seat at all, in fact), so we ended up standing right in front of the bar, staring at the stage; and I was shocked at how much people talked during her performance. She even commented on it last night -- "Thanks to all of you who are polite enough to listen to me" and "I don't know why people come and spend their hard earned money..." I tried recommending the concert to everybody I knew for the last two weeks, but I could only get a car load of us there. At least we all had a blast. Now I have to sit and wait for Hawksley's next album... written by Marc at 6:23 PM [+] | Friday, March 18, 2005

![]() written by angela at 1:55 PM [+] | Monday, March 14, 2005 So, I hear the mumblings and I would just like to clarify one thing -- I am still alive and I still know how to post. It has been a while since I've made a post. Since my last one, I've spent a week at another mine, this one at McArthur River, just a little south, and a little west of Rabbit Lake, the place I showed on the map earlier. I would like to mention one thing, though. I have HUGE plans for St. Patrick's Day. I would like to say that I'm going out and getting my fill of green beverages, but I'm even more excited that I'll probably be playing my second game of real hockey that night with the Brooklyns Bundeswehr at the Saskatoon Jemini. Win or lose, the game will likely be followed by a few wobbly-pops. Wish me luck! written by Marc at 6:40 PM [+] | Friday, March 11, 2005

![]() Here you go Becky. I finally made an image out of the one you sent me from your wedding. It isn't too different, I didn't want to mess it up with too much distractions from the beautiful couple in the picture. I hope you like it. written by angela at 6:41 PM [+] |
![]() These last few days have really been great for seeing good movies. I Heart Huckabees was a great philosophical movie, addressing some of the same issues as What the Bleep Do we Know, but in a more comedic fashion. Maria Full of Grace was also a wonderful movie. It was, however, very difficult to watch. I can feel the queasiness coming back to my stomach right now, just thinking about it. It is based on true events. Events that are probably happening right now as I write this entry. Some people have it so difficult and others have it relatively so easy. This reality that I have created sure isn't fair. Because I have been watching all these philosophical and harsh reality type movies, I have been plagued with nightmares for the past couple of nights. I can't wait until Marc gets home. What right does he have to be off skiing with his buddies, when I am stuck here, all alone, having nightmares? written by angela at 3:31 PM [+] | Friday, March 04, 2005 Okay, I need your help. I have made a website for my Art class and I need everyone to look it over and make sure I am not missing any mistakes. Please follow the links and make sure they work. There are four pages linked to the main one that I also created and want to watch for mistakes on. The website is due on Tuesday, so I only have few days left. Thanks to anyone that does this for me. Wow, what an interesting movie. I just saw What the Bleep Do we Know at the Broadway Theater. I really love the first half an hour to hour and the ending. Somewhere in the middle they took a terrible turn in my opinion. The ideas presented in the first half hour or so are so similar to a lot of my own ideas and thoughts that I was blown away. They took many of the things I think about and expanded on them. I loved it and would like to watch it over and over again. I think I could learn new things several times. But, somewhere near the middle they left the quatum physics issue and entered into the realm of Biochemistry. This is where it went wrong for me. I found the way they presented biochemical processes to be quite trivial and irrelevant to the issues presented at the beginning. Maybe this is due to my biochemical background. Nothing in this entire section of the movie was new to me. However, once they got over the biochemical stuff and back into the ideas of perception and reality, I was happy again. I definitely have something to think about for the next couple of days and maybe even beyond. I love the idea of possibilities and alternate universes/dimensions. Ideas that we are all one, all connected. There is no difference between space and matter, it is all atoms. I love thinking about the connections I have and my ability to effect myself and my environment. Just talking about it is making me want to watch the movie again (well, at least before the biochemical stuff). I would recommend this movie to those with similar thoughts as my own, but not to a general population. I don't think it has wide spread appeal and that would explain why it got such a low rating at rotten tomatoes. If anyone wants to see it this week while it is still at Broadway, I will go with you. I might take a bathroom break somewhere in the middle, but I do want to see it again. written by angela at 10:26 PM [+] | I told Marc that I would post something good and interesting this afternoon. Hmmmm, good and interesting, the pressure is on. He is at McArthur River (sp??) this whole week and then off to Jasper with some boyz for the weekend. Yes, he has left me all alone during this time. I can tell you, it has been quite boring. I was supposed to call my friends and hang out during this time, but I haven't done that yet. Maybe I will go see a movie tonight, I really want to see What the Bleep Do we Know and it is playing at Broadway right now. I have been trying to use this time to get more work done, but that seems to be getting stalled through no fault of my own. The computer at school has been down for the past week, preventing me from accessing my files. Apparently I should be able to get them later today. If that is true then I can finally get back to work. Okay, this post hasn't really been interesting yet as all I have done is babble. Sometimes Marc likes my babbling (or that is what he tells me) so maybe this post will be interesting to him if no one else. Last night I rented Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban from our Max TV. It was a good time killer as I have already seen that movie a couple of times. I hate to sound like a kids website, but I can't wait until the next book comes out. I have already prepurchased it from Amazon.ca. How cool is that ;) Okay, so it isn't that cool, Oh well, I tried. I think that is enough babbling for today, I really should get some work done. written by angela at 12:44 PM [+] | Tuesday, March 01, 2005 here it is for today written by angela at 3:47 PM [+] | |
